Towels

Antique and vintage towels are one of my favorite categories! Vintage guest towels and hand towels are affordable and special. They add a personal touch to any powder room, kitchen or bath. They range from very tiny fingertip-sized towels through the guest sized ones on up to larger, but harder to find, bath-sized bath sheets. Most are linen, many are embroidered or edged with precious lace and do double-duty as things both utilitarian and beautiful. Towels with monograms can be high style, more countrified or somewhere in between. Towels with monograms can be breathtaking and make great gifts. You may be lucky enough to find your own exact monogram but many people collect and enjoy all sorts of monograms in general. The epitome is the fabulous antique "Show" towels which were used for show... or for "showing off!" Almost everyone knew not to use them. Today, they make incredible runners, window treatments or backdrops for layering. Many stand alone as magnificent textiles in their own right.
