A Glorious Antique White Cotton "Show-off" Duvet or Parade Sham (German: Parade Kissen) with embroidered lace ruffle and Pintucks, 51.5x53.5" square

In Germany, these are called "Parade Kissen" which means it is a sham to parade or to "show off" with. We don't have a tradition of these here in the US but we should start one because it is so pretty!

This ruffled antique white cotton duvet or large sham lies at the bottom of a bed and apparently its sole function is to look impressive. And that, it does! It would be filled with a comforter or blanket.

This one is crisp white cotton with an embroidered lace ruffle and insertion border, covered buttons and rows of tiny pintucks. It measures 51.5x53.5" from edge to edge including the wonderful 3.5" lace and the inner space is 47x48.25". Check your measuring tape; this is very large; the photos do not really give you a sense of the size. Excellent condition, c.1920. Stock 7191.
