Superb Antique Sheer Ecru Cotton Lawn Shawl Embroidered with Ayrshire Flowers, 64" wide

This exquisitely embroidered white-work shawl is spectacular and the work looks like Ayrshire embroidery. The fabric is superfine ecru cotton lawn and the design is simple, but spectacular. It is triangular and it measures 64" tip to tip and it is 30" high and the sides are 47". The condition is not quite perfect; it has some holes and tears. c.mid-to-late-19th century. Stock 13215.
