Beautiful Antique White Layover Sham Embroidered with Turkey Red Tiger Lillies, 19th century, 29" square

I have a particular fondness for anything that is embroidered with Turkey red thread, especially when it has a very pretty design! This gorgeous semi-translucent white linen antique sham is embroidered with red tiger lily flowers. (at least, that is what they remind me of)

These single layer "layover" type of shams are also wonderful when used as a cafe curtain or as teacloths, especially at Christmas, when the red just glows!

It measures 29" square. The condition is excellent though not flawless; it has some tiny holes. It is sound; the holes won't enlarge themselves. c.1880-1920s. Stock 16147
