Spectacular Antique White Linen "Rembrance" Italian Show Towel Embroidered with "Ricordo" and "MS" monogram and Edged with Wide Crochet Lace, 26.5x56"

This superb antique heirloom towel is heavy handwoven linen fabric. Both ends are finished with wide crocheted lace borders. It is embroidered with a beautiful "MS" monogram with the word "Ricordo" (translates: "I remember," in Italian) embroidered underneath.

It measures 26.5x56". The condition is excellent. The rather rustic embroidery makes a charming contrast to the more sophisticated towel. c. 19th-20th century.
