A Superb and Rare Antique White Cotton Pillow Sham Embroidered with Turkey Red Work and Gold Work Double Eagle, 28x30"

This gorgeous antique white cotton sham features two golden eagles embroidered with chain stitching in gold and Turkey red. It is not a button in sham nor is it a layover type; it's a wrap-around sham. It has winged panels that fold under the pillow which is yet another interesting variation on how to keep a pillow inside a sham.

It is tambour embroidered with a wonderful double eagle bird design in two colors, mustard gold and Turkey red. Rare, interesting and unusual theme for a sham. It measures 28x30". The condition is excellent and it is spectacular in person! c.1875-90. Stock 9866.
