Wonderful and Crisp Antique White Cotton Bedcover / Bedspread or Tablecloth Embroidered with Turkey Red Fruits: Grapes, Apples, Greens and Pears Surrounded by Maple Leaves, 86x90"

This wonderful antique white cotton bedspread is embroidered with a border of maple leaves and has a central cartouche filled with apples, grapes, pears and oranges, all embroidered in Turkey red thread. It is complex, interesting and beautifully embroidered.

It measures 86x90" and it has a bottom extension that was made to fit a 4-poster bed. This extension could be removed, or pinned up, if you'd prefer to use it as a tablecloth. It may have started out as a tablecloth with its bountiful fruit design which would seem to relate more to dining but in a waste-not-want-not society, many items were reused or altered in different places. Either way, it has seen very little use.

It is in excellent condition, it looks brand new. It is fresh and ready for your perfect personal place to use or display or cherish! c.19th-early 20th century. Stock 13273.
