Superb 19th century Antique Lady's Quilted White Cotton Porkpie Hat or Bonnet

The top and brim of this antique white cotton porkpie shaped cap is quilted into a series of concentric rings. The top of the hat buttons onto the brim with small shell buttons. The brim measures 9" wide edge to edge. Museum collection provenance; a tiny number sewn inside was the museum's inventory catalog number, however, it faded when I laundered the hat. Excellent condition although it does have a faint spot. c.19th century. Stock 18155
