This exceptional pair of tan and deep maroon red toile window valances are scalloped with really lovely braid-trimmed tops and fringed hems. The pattern is very detailed and beautiful and includes wonderful animals and costumes. They have been stiffened and lined with silk. They were deaccessioned from a museum collection. Each measures 68" X 14". The condition is excellent. Offered "as discovered." They are absolutely gorgeous and the condition almost looks like new. The background of one has darkened with age more than the second one. (compare the upper left portion of each alance in the last photo.) The camera just doesn't capture it perfectly. However, if you love very old toile, (or even new toile!) I know you will love these. c.1765-1775. Stock 17637. $550. Sorry, this item was sold in 2006.
