This is an exceptionally lovely antique tablecloth and napkin set. The off-white fabric is a heavy jacquard cotton and it is woven in a geometric pattern. that imitates mid-19th century homespun. The set consists of a tablecloth and eleven large matching napkins. The cloth features a central medallion filled with hand-embroidered fruit in a wonderful combination of pale pink and turkey red. The redwork embroidery accents the "food experience" of dining. There are cherries, pears, plums and pomegranites in the design. The napkins all have cherries. There is no way I could begin to capture how wonderful this piece is in a photo, so suffice it to say that it is incredible in person. It measures 57 x 96". There are 11 large 22" x 26" matching Napkins, also in the same very heavy fabric with woven geometric design. It was never used. The condition is pristine. c.1920-40s. Stock 0335. $375.
