Superb Exceptional, Rare, Fine and Ancient Antique Danish Embroidered Linen Man's Bib, 18th century or earlier

This ancient woven white linen "Man's Bib" (apron) came from the collection of a woman who traveled during the early 20th century in pursuit of collectible linens, laces and stitches. She mounted exhibitions of textiles and she, herself, wove and wrote on the subject of the "Spanish Stitch." This piece was shown in several textile museum exhibitions in the 1930s. Luckily, the attached tag identified what it was; the tag reads: No 10. Man's Bib, Copenhagen.
The medieval bib is embroidered with tiny needlewoven geometrics. The work is wonderful, very accomplished. There is a small cross stitched monogram in one corner. It measures 30x40"; the embroidered band is 3.5" wide. The condition is superb. Copenhagen, Denmark, circa 18th or 17th century.
