A Gorgeous Unused Antique Ecru Linen Damask Towel woven with Blue Art Deco Border Design, Hemstitching, Blue Tatted Lace Edging, 15x28"
What it is and why I like it:
Antique Linen Towel with Blue Borders and Tatted Lace Edging, 15x28"
This is a lovely antique towel that has never been used nor laundered. It was just put away and never used.
It is special for many reasons:
1. It is just plain beautiful. Especially in person.
2. It was never used and the condition is perfect.
3. It's nice and old, dating from circa 1920s which you can tell because colors weren't used much in linens before those wid "roaring Twenties!" (Show towels are an exception.)
4. Nice color (blue is unusual and rare), nice pattern, nice surprise of tatting along the front edge.
5. It can be used in a kitchen, bathroom or powder room... and, it can actually be used.
6. Linen is very absorbant and, unlike most other fibers, it is very strong when it is wet and it gets softer and more absorbant with repeated use and laundering.
7. It has several generation's worth of use left in it. (more, if you also don't use it!)
