Gorgeous Dozen Vintage White Linen Drawnwork Coasters Edged with Handmade Flanders (or Flemish) Bobbin Lace, 6"

This gorgeous set of 12 soft white linen coasters is edged with handmade Flanders (or Flemish) bobbin lace and the set also has drawnwork borders crisscrossing the center. The design on this lace edge is so ancient that the origins and significance of it has been lost. It is thought that they had been figural animals, possibly dolphins, that have evolved into the present rendition.

The condition is excellent. Never used, or laundered. until now. c. 20th century.
