Gorgeous Antique White Irish Linen Double Damask "Old Bleach" Brand Hemstitched Tablecloth and Set of Six 22" Napkins Hand Painted with Yellow, Pink and Blue Flowers, 70x88"

This superb antique tablecloth and set of 6 matching napkins are a lovely example of hand painted Irish linen made by the "Old Bleach" damask company of Ireland. The set features a simple, but pretty, floral design hand painted in pink, blue and yellow with green foliage. Some smaller flowers are pale lavender, too. The woven design has borders of scrolls and flowers that surround the larger painted flowers. The words "Pure Irish Linen Double Damask are woven along one edge of the tablecloth. The hemmed sides were sewn by machine.

Note: This type of work is more commonly found on rayon damask; to have it on linen is a rare treat. Please note that the photos show both the "before" and the "after" laundering results.

The condition is excellent, c. 20th century.
