Magnificent Antique Heavy White Linen Bedcover (Bedspread) Embroidered with Superb White on White Wheat and Floral Center and Drawnwork Borders, approx. 80 x127"

This superb antique heavy white linen bedspread is embroidered with a design of beautifully thick wheat sprouts, curlicues and flowers in white thread. The embroidery is heavy and absolutely fabulous. The color is white and the fabric is substantial. This coverlet is a spectacular old beauty, something to build a room around.

It was made for a bed; evidenced by the asymmetrical placement of the embroidered center and the extra space at one end to cover a pillow. The embroidered section centers on the bed.

It measures 80x127". The embroidered section between the beautiful drawnwork borders measures 27.5x45". The condition is pristine, c. 19th-20th century.
