Exquisite Vintage Figural White Linen Runner Embroidered with Whitework and Figural Needlelace Winged Cherubs, 18x60"

This beautiful vintage white linen runner is embroidered with gorgeous whitework flowers and it is edged all around with filet lace scallops. The best part is the exquisite figural needle point lace insertions with cherubs, aka putti, angels or cupids.

Not only are the figural point lace insertions to be found on each end, two more with winged putti are on each side, making a total of six. The end ones depict figures wearing caps sitting at a fountainhead possibly reading scrolls.

It measures 18x60". The condition is excellent. c. 20th century.
