Wonderful Antique Long White Cotton Christening Gown or Dress Trimmed with Ruffles of Embroidered Lace and Pintuck Pleats

This beautiful antique white cotton long Christening gown is embellished with ruffles around the neck and bodice. The ruffles are made from machine-embroidered whitework lace. It is trimmed at the wrists with embroidered lace. There is an eyelet insertion border and pintuck pleats at the bottom which has a plain hem.

It probably closed in the back with hoks and eyes but nothing remains to close it.

MEASUREMENTS:

shoulder to shoulder measures 8.5"

across the chest is 11" (measured underarm to underarm)

bodice measures 2.5" high

sleeve length is 9.5"

Length is 31"

around the bottom sweep 59"

The condition is excellent. It's breathtaking! c. 20th century.
