Exceptional Unused Vintage Italian Bedcover (Bedspread), 98x111.5"

This superb unused Italian woven silk bedspread is an utterly amazing piece. It features womens' faces and urns and huge, dramatic palm fronds all woven in a soft and charming combination of pale aqua green, pale pink and gold.

The design is a mix of Egyptian revival, Art Nouveau and Renaissance revival designs, all combined within a graceful mix of patterned borders that link the Victorian and the Art Nouveau eras.

On a double (full) bed, the fringes go to the floor. The colors are light soft aqua/mint green, pink and accents of gold. The play of light makes the colors shimmer as you pass by the bed. It is super!

The center medallion features four lady's portraits alternating with urns. The intricate pattern, superb weave, exquisite condition and the amazing splendor make this a memorable and rare treasure. It measures 111.5x98". The condition is excellent. c. 19th-20th century.
