Cynthia’s Antique & Vintage Linens
The Back:
This ruffled antique white cotton duvet / sham lies at the bottom of a bed and its sole function is to look fantastic. It would be filled with a comforter or blanket. In Germany, these are called "Parade Kissen" which means it is a sham to parade or to "show off" with. We don't have a tradition of these here in the US but we should start one because these are so pretty! This one is white cotton with an embroidered lace ruffle and insertion border, covered buttons and rows of tiny pintucks. It measures 51.5x53.5" from edge to edge including the wonderful 3.5" lace and the inner space is 47x48.25". Check your measuring tape; this is very large; the photos do not really give you a sense of the size. Excellent condition, c.1920. Stock 7192. $175.
