Exquisite Antique French Ecru Linen Sheet Embroidered with Wheat and "LM" Monogram, 90x122"

This superb antique natural unbleached "gray" linen sheet is embroidered with fanciful wheat circles surrounding a rectangular drawnwork cartouche enclosing a padded satinstitch "LM" monogram. All the embroidery is sewn in white thread.

It also has a border of drawn thread work hemstitch. The fabric color is more an oatmeal tan and the white embroidery is a beautiful, though subtle, contrast. Heavy French linen, superb condition. c. 19th-20th century.It measures 90x122".
