This set of 5 immense antique white linen damask napkins are fit for a king. The superb damask fabric is woven with the monogram of Vittorio Emanuele III, King of Italy, who was crowned in 1900 and reigned until his death. (lived 1869-1947) The napkins also feature figural crests and parts of the "Royal Standard of the king of Italy" as well as motifs from the ancient Royal House of Savoy (Reale Casa di Savoia) used from 1905 onward: the eagle and the shield of Savoy. The designs are beautiful; the condition is beautiful and the provenance is as good as it gets! Also woven is the FERT acronym, the motto of the House of Savoy. They measure 38x35".
