Spectacular Unused Bronze-Gold Banquet Cloth and Eighteen Napkins with White Lace Griffins and "G" or "C" Monograms

This is a rare, heavy and luxurious figural banquet-sized tablecloth with a set of eighteen matching napkins. They have hemstitched hems and a fabulous pattern of griffins and urns woven into the filet-type lace design. The design is woven through the fabric and is on both the front and back and I am not sure of the technique used to make this, but it is just glorious.

This impressive 19-piece set of bronze-y gold-colored cotton- linen is from Czeckoslovakia at the turn of the last century. The camera doesn't seem to capture the magnificence of this set. So, as with many items, it is much, much more astonishing in person.

Also amazing is the fact that these pices are unused and are in pristine condition. The set of 18 matching papkins are also hand embroidered with white "G" or "C" monograms and also have hemstitched hems. Heavy and luxurious, this set is superb with supple and lustrous fabric that feels like a cotton-linen blend. The size is for a true banquet table 63x152". The napkins measure 14.5" square. Superb Set, c.1900-20s.
