Cynthia’s Antique & Vintage Linens
This superb pair of antique pillow shams are astonishing in person. One has a design of cabbage roses and the second one has a bird on a branch in the center. The swingy scalloped edges are also unusual and beautiful. They are backed with very fine, nearly sheer coral-colored silk. They were deaccessioned from a museum collection; the inventory catalog number is sewn on the back. (the first photo shows the color best.) They measure approx. 28x32". The condition is excellent. Never used. They are slightly discolored along one edge from storage. (I think you will have to live with that, though. But it is not at all disturbing.) Offered "as discovered." c.1900.
