Cynthia's Antique & Vintage Linens
This lovely vintage white linen hanky is embroidered with green border and shields and flowers. It measures 8". Very sweet and special. Excellent condition, c.1940-60s. The following info comes from a customer who lived in Switzerland as a child and immediately recognized it as a Swiss tourist item - they sold them in the 1960's and probably before and after that date also. The white cross on the red shield is the symbol for Switzerland, while the green shield with the hatchet is the symbol for the canton of St. Gallen (on the eastern border near Germany, Austria, and Lichtenstein).
