This spectacular set includes a tablecloth and a set of 14 matching napkins, all large and exceptional. They are woven with sprays of flowers and Gothic arches with a border of repeating lyres around the edge, and all are embroidered with a small "HdE" in one corner.
The monograms are the tiniest punchwork stitches, barely discernable until you know what you are looking for. On the napkins, the monogram is embroidered over the numeral "24"; on the tablecloth, it is embroidered above a number "1".
They are superb, wonderful... rare, historic and breathtaking. The tablecloth measures 188x82". The extremely large napkins measure 34x46". They date to the first quarter of the 19th century and they are exquisite.
The condition is excellent and nearly flawless. One would choose this set for its rarity, sensational pattern, indisputable age, historic value and provenance.
